Learn English for free with iTTi.

The company was born from the combination and expertise of a professional with a solid career, especially in the area of teaching and through additional languages and the attacks of September 11, 2001 in the United States.

After losing his job at Tacito Cury, he decides to found his own school, which aims to expand qualifications and certify English teachers and students, both in the linguistic and pedagogical fields, or with the help of a bilingual curriculum.

Today, with important approvals around the world that already number almost 60, its partners and schools are including teachers in a methodological training course that aims to contribute to the expansion of the provision of language education anywhere in the world.

Tácito has a history of studies and work within the education scenario, traveling or working in more than 150 countries, implementing and structuring new units with his franchisees.

On one of his trips to Thailand, where he arrives with the Tsunami and remains as a volunteer in the country, he understands that volunteering would be the key that would trigger his project in his mind and decides to study a master’s degree in International Relations at the Sorbonne in France, another in International Business in Germany and a Postgraduate degree in International Resource Development in England, with Business Administration courses and one in International Business both at Berkeley College in the United States and a Master’s degree in Digital Marketing at EFAP France.

The proposal in this project is to include volunteering as a participatory form in this training stage and pass it on in a free way, making the cycle turn. Interested parties access the website and fill out a form requesting participation in the course, which is a certification to become English language teachers, a free course, where they can qualify and be nominated for job vacancies in several countries where the school has partners , it is first necessary to pass on this same course voluntarily, whether through educational institutions, needy communities, or a group of underserved people. Allowing these people to develop yet another skill and be placed back into the job market through an opportunity generated by the school itself around the world with its schools.

We invite interested parties to access the course registration form and be part of the iTTi volunteer group

Tacito Cury Honored by Brazilian Parliament for Empowering Underprivileged Communities

In a stirring moment of recognition for his unwavering commitment to empowering underprivileged individuals through education, Tacito, founder of the iTTi-international TEFL Training Institute, was awarded an honorary Doctorate by the Brazilian Parliament. This prestigious accolade stands as a testament to Tacito’s remarkable efforts in fostering opportunities and bridging gaps within society, particularly through his groundbreaking work in the field of English language education.

The ceremony, held in the majestic halls of the Brazilian Parliament, was attended by dignitaries, scholars, and advocates alike, all united in celebration of Tacito’s visionary contributions. As he stood before the assembly, Tacito reflected on the journey that led him to this pivotal moment, emphasizing the profound impact that education can have on transforming lives and communities.

At the heart of Tacito’s mission lies the belief that education is not merely a privilege but a fundamental human right. With this ethos as his guiding principle, he established the iTTi-international TEFL Training Institute, a pioneering initiative dedicated to providing high-quality teacher training programs to individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Through these programs, Tacito has empowered countless aspiring educators, equipping them with the skills and resources needed to excel in the field of English language teaching.

What sets Tacito’s approach apart is his unwavering focus on inclusivity and accessibility. Recognizing the barriers that often hinder marginalized communities from accessing educational opportunities, he has implemented innovative strategies to reach those most in need. From offering scholarships and mentorship programs to developing tailored curriculum materials, Tacito has worked tirelessly to ensure that no aspiring educator is left behind.

But Tacito’s impact extends far beyond the confines of the classroom. Through strategic partnerships and collaborations, he has spearheaded initiatives aimed at addressing systemic inequalities and fostering sustainable development. Whether through community outreach projects or advocacy campaigns, Tacito has consistently championed the rights of underprivileged individuals, advocating for a more equitable and just society.

The recognition bestowed upon Tacito by the Brazilian Parliament is not only a reflection of his individual achievements but also a reaffirmation of the power of collective action in driving positive change. It serves as a reminder that the pursuit of social justice and equality is an ongoing journey—one that requires dedication, perseverance, and above all, empathy.

As Tacito humbly accepted his honorary Doctorate, he expressed his profound gratitude to all those who have supported and inspired him along the way. Yet, he also emphasized that the work is far from over. In a world marked by persistent inequities and injustices, Tacito remains steadfast in his commitment to building a brighter future for all.  His trainee teachers volunteer in underprivileged communities taking educational opportunities in the form of learning English and, at the same time connecting to other disciplines, there.  It is through the study of English that those students expand their horizons in other subject areas that the monolingual individual never will.

In honoring Tacito, the Brazilian Parliament not only celebrates his remarkable achievements but also reaffirms its commitment to advancing the cause of education and social justice. It sends a powerful message to the world—that by working together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable society, where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

As Tacito continues his journey, fueled by passion and purpose, his legacy serves as a beacon of hope for generations to come. May his story inspire us all to stand up, speak out, and strive for a world where education knows no bounds, and opportunities abound for every person, regardless of circumstance.

The Strength of Resilience

A Força da Resiliência

Tacito Cury turned tragedy into a business to change people’s lives.

After going through the September 11 attack in the USA, the Brazilian created an education network and started developing volunteer projects.

Survivor of the attack on the World Trade Center, Brazilian Tacito Cury, always resilient, transformed the tragedy into a life change not only for himself, but also for other people.

Living in New York at the time, he worked at an English school inside one of the towers. However, with the fateful attack, he ended up being fired because one of his students was a terrorist involved in the attack, which made the FBI look for him to obtain information. This did not go down well with his former boss, who dismissed him and ended up turning a key in Cury’s life.

Out of work, he became his own boss. “I was forced to undertake, as I didn’t have any job opportunities at that time. So, I created my own company that I still have today,” he says, referring to iTTi: International TEFL Training Institute. “In it I find a way to work on the three pillars, make money, travel the world and return to the universe”, he says.

TEFL is the acronym for “Teaching English as a Foreign Language”, which means “Teaching English to Foreigners” in free translation. The certificates offered include specific techniques and cover an expressive social and cultural context in language teaching. “Obtaining TEFL certification is essential for teaching English anywhere in the world,” Tácito explains.

After giving the course’s first classes to a young English woman in 2001, the businessman realized that he could give new meaning to his classes in order to elevate them into a business capable of transforming lives. “iTTi was the evolution of a project I was already offering.”

Since then, there have been three schools opened in New York alone, in operation to this day, and other units around the world, which in addition to the professional course, require 20 hours of voluntary work in the study region in the curriculum. This volunteering usually takes place in a needier community, contributing to the education of these people.

“I came from the outskirts of São Paulo and I know how expensive an English course is. I left Brazil at the age of 17 focusing on my dream of going to the United States, learning the language and working hard to improve my life and help others”, says Cury.

And this requirement for volunteering did not happen by chance. In 2004, the Brazilian survived the great tsunami that hit several areas of Oceania, such as Thailand, where he had traveled. The tourist tour ended with Tácito helping residents, other locals and actively getting to know the Red Cross, which awakened in him this desire to act for others as well.

“The certificate also helps the student obtain a visa and look for jobs in other countries, including translators. Whether it’s to live abroad for a year or build a new life in a new place, whether it’s to teach and make extra income for a period of time, or to start a solid career in language education. There is no age limit, the only requirement is to speak fluent English, and the course enables you to teach the language safely and professionally”, he details.

For the businessman, a bubble is burst when people learn about iTTi. Many want the opportunity to travel and engage in cultural exchange, which the institute offers with dedication and professionalism. “In my schools in New Jersey, American teachers work directly with the Latino public in New York. I am very proud to help the American people teach English.”

Nowadays, Tacito Cury also prospects legal entities through philosophy: money, tourism and volunteering. There are several partners worldwide who purchased the brand and content to replicate the project on a growing scale. They are called “iTTi Ambassadors”. “More than twenty thousand students were certified through this project and we crossed the borders of sixty countries. iTTi causes a local improvement with a global impact”, he concluded.

A New Challenge!

A New Challenge!

I confess that I avoided exhaustively talking about the pandemic. Many reported and took a position on one of the most difficult moments in human history. On the other hand, I was not sure about the contribution that my positions would offer to my followers. When in doubt, I sought silence, caution, took advantage of the isolation to rethink my relationship with myself, with work, with friends, with family, with the world before and after the pandemic. In a short time of reflection I discovered that I would have to reinvent myself again, just as I have been doing since childhood until today. From an early age – by instinct, nature, essence or inclination – I noticed that life was dynamic, nothing was static, that living is but moving towards your dreams. My reaction to natural or provoked changes always adapts. Exact! With a constant sense of adaptability, I resisted, survived and reacted to adversities and challenges that often presented themselves as invincible and insurmountable.

My bistro was one of the regrettable losses and damages I had in this pandemic. Placing the closed plate represented an abrupt cut in something that I idealized for a long time until I managed to achieve it.
My bistro is a charming place, entirely decorated by me, intimate, full of personality.

I created the space for different personalities, people looking for gastronomic, visual and, above all, intimate and personal experiences. There’s a little house there. From our house. While decorating it was that feeling of home that stood out. I’m an executive, I don’t know how to fry an egg and I decide to create a bistro. Apparently it is unreasonable, but my travels around the world brought a sense of the glamor and beauty that exists in the cuisine of each place. Gastronomy is identity, it reveals the face of a people, it brings joy, the desire to meet with others. The idea of the bistro was born from this sudden passion for the table in each country. One day I arrived at my bistro, looked at it for a long time and thought: “I definitely give up on this place or reinvent myself to keep it up”. Without a doubt I decided to reinvent myself, bring a new Tacito Cury to the scene and rearrange everything so that life would return to its rhythm again. I wasn’t going to hire a chef, but to be one to bring the best of universal cuisine to my bistro’s future customers.

I enrolled in all Le Cordon Bleu courses, went through a selection process, was approved and decided that I would be a respectable chef even though I had no culinary skills to favor my decision.
The course is highly respectable, I will have contact with the best in the field and with my utmost attention and dedication I will again be a man of my time, reinvented, strong, ready to keep what I have built.

That’s me and I can’t and shouldn’t betray myself. Since I was a child I knew that I was destined for goals and being a chef is another goal that I set and that in the end I will achieve the success I hope for.
I am ready for another challenge and I want to count on the presence of all of you on this new journey.
